Dental Implants

Restorative dentistry offers several ways by which teeth can be restored to its normal function and aesthetics. Missing teeth is a common concern. Teeth may come out due to several reasons. Some of the possible causes are injury, infection, decay or even aging. Although conventional methods of teeth replacement such as dental bridges and dentures have been successful so far, they always lacked the essence of aesthetics and longevity. Dental implants can offer both.

What are dental implants?

Dental implants are Titanium roots that are designed to offer a durable base structure for the placement of artificial teeth (in the form of a crown). They would act as strong roots that would be embedded into the jawbone at the exact location of the missing tooth. Titanium is a durable, non-toxic material. Dental implants have the strength and structure to look and feel just like regular teeth.

Benefits of dental implants

Dental implants have several benefits to offer.

  • Excellent aesthetics.
  • Does not harm or disturb adjacent teeth.
  • Offers excellent strength and durability.
  • Supports dentures.
  • Removes excessive gaps.
  • Eliminates bone deterioration.

What is the procedure involved?

After an extensive evaluation, Dr. Le would decide whether you are a suitable candidate for dental implants. In case the patient has insufficient bone structure, preparations would start for the same. Generally, a typical procedure would involve an oral surgery where the dentist would place Titanium posts on the jawbone for each missing tooth. Once the posts are healed, Dr. Le would set a custom restoration over the Titanium posts with the help of an abutment. Once secured, your mouth would regain its former aesthetics and function allowing you to resume normal routines. Dental implants offer a prosthetic that closely mimics natural teeth by which all normal functions of your teeth gets restored.
